STOP PRESS - Kendal Mountain Festival 48hr Film Marathon Winners!

I Teamed up with fellow snapper Steve Barber and Debbie McGowan to make a film for the Kendal Mountain Festival -Adventure Film Academy 48 hr Film Marathon. Debbie came up with a great story and after some panicked searching for locations and cast we made “Bored Meeting”

Steve and I decided to sign up for the festival in the summer but were short of a story, things were getting a bit scary with a week to go and no definite story in place, when I by chance bumped into Dave, Debbie’s Husband, and mentioned the festival, he told me that Deb was wanting to do the festival and had a great story idea but had nobody to work with. On Monday afternoon of the festival week, the team was formed.

We shot in the Lake District National Park offices on Wednesday evening and roped in Debbie’s husband David and the LDNP Chief Exec. Richard Leafe to feature in the meeting scenes. At the last minute we eventually found our leading man, Steve Mason, who works in the same building as me, agreed to come on board on Tueday evening, less than 24hrs before we started shooting.

Kate Jarvis at the Forestry Commission very kindly closed off a section of the North Face Trail in Grizedale which was a huge help.

The entire film was shot and edited in 48 hours then shown to a full house at the Brewery 3 hours after being submitted. We had a great time making it and needless to say we were over the moon to have won on our 1st attempt. Roll on next year!
